Reconstruction conceptual design of the experimental theater in Shanghai Theatre Academy

The drama plaza beside Huashan Road is a window for the SIPG to directly communicate with the city, and it also creates a corner for the passing citizens to rest their minds; as an extension of the stage space, the shallow pool also provides a multi-dimensional creation space for theatrical scenery.

In the future, avant-garde dramas with rich forms will be staged here, such as still water, slowly infiltrating the art of theater into urban life. Along the urban interface of Huashan Road, the building presents an open and inclusive attitude, which not only ensures visual continuity, but also maintains the same scale as the surrounding buildings.

The floor-to-ceiling windows along the side of Huashan Road decorate the interior space with city scenery; the zigzag-shaped triangular staircase connects the public space on the first and second floors with a very dynamic posture, and the light shines from the top, giving the whole space a stronger drama tension.
